On Thursday, October 27th, Icon Astoria will host a first of its kind event titled, "Queens in Queens: A Very Queer Town Hall" It's a queer organized event centered around issues impacting the local LGBTQIA+ community of Western Queens. Topics may include but are not limited to:
- Voting and GOTV opportunities 
- Monkeypox & COVID 
- HIV/AIDS + PrEP 
- Reproductive Rights 
- Affordability and Housing 
- Education K-12 and LGBTQIA+ inclusive curriculum 
- Community empowerment, enrichment, and safety 
- Stories of how community members came together during the pandemic 
- Perseverance of queer nightlife and the revitalization of queer spaces/clubs 
Hear from elected officials, local businesses, and LGBTQIA+ community leaders. There will be a Q&A session for attendees to ask questions. There is no cost for admission. Event starts at 7:00pm. For attendees who arrive early, treat yourself to buy-one-get-one drinks (5pm - 7pm).
