We're throwing a soiree to get more LBGTQ people elected to local positions in Brooklyn.
Flit, flirt, chat, discourse, drink, munch, mix, mingle, and meet these three fabulous candidates. Hosted by David Robinson and Michael White.
Samy Nemir Olivares
Samy believes in the power of community and is running for District Leader in Assembly District 53 to ensure his community’s voices are heard. He is a Puerto Rican-Dominican, queer, progressive activist who believes the most effective way to advance social justice, inclusion, and progressive values starts at the local level and in our communities.
Jesse Pierce
Jesse is a dedicated political organizer and Democrat running for District Leader in Brooklyn’s 52nd Assembly District on June 23, 2020. She wants the Democratic Party to work for all Brooklynites. This means a commitment to inclusivity, accessibility, and accountability at every level of our Party’s structure — starting right here in Kings County.
Genesis Aquino
Genesis is a human rights activist and community organizer. She immigrated to Brooklyn from the Dominican Republic as a child, and was raised in Sunset Park where her parents worked at factories on the waterfront. She attended the local public schools and her first jobs were in the stores along Sunset Park’s Fifth Avenue. Génesis is running to represent New York’s 51st Assembly District including the communities of Sunset Park, Red Hook, South Slope, and parts of Gowanus, Borough Park and Bay Ridge.
